The multiwave locked system (MLS) laser therapy we use is the highest potency type available today. It’s the same kind used in orthopedic offices for issues like knee and hip pain, as it’s an effective way to manage pain and inflammation and help you heal faster.
How It Helps
The laser has two different beams that laser down into your tissue. Let’s say you have a knee problem. The first beam helps decrease pain by sparking anti-inflammatory processes in the tissue. The second beam helps speed up healing times or starts the healing process in an area that hasn’t gotten better.

This modern therapy can address various issues, including back or neck pain and joint discomfort. Dr. Ritchie has helped many patients, including dancers with Charlotte Ballet, as they have to stand en pointe, and their toes are always hurting as a result. You Won’t Get Burned
Another important benefit of this laser is that it doesn’t produce heat, unlike other Class IV ones, which do. With those, you can’t keep the unit over the body for very long, or else it starts to burn. With the MLS type, there’s no risk of getting burned. It also features a robotic head, which ensures we have a proper dose of the laser the entire way through a patient’s care program. Each session takes 10 minutes, and typically we will do six visits to start with, and we will see how you do.
